What is Reddit integration?
Reddit integration lets you create App2 projects by posting in the r/app2dev subreddit. The App2 bot monitors the subreddit and automatically creates projects from posts with the "Create App" flair.
How it works:
Post your app idea in r/app2dev
Add "Create App" flair to your post
Bot detects your post (within ~60 seconds)
Project created automatically
Bot replies with project link
Why use Reddit:
Share ideas publicly: Get community feedback
Create from anywhere: Mobile-friendly (post from Reddit app)
Track projects: Posts stay in subreddit as documentation
Community inspiration: See what others are building
Simple workflow: No need to open App2.dev
How it works
For linked accounts
If you've connected your Reddit account to App2:
You post in r/app2dev with "Create App" flair
Bot detects post within ~60 seconds
Project created in your App2 workspace
Bot comments with project link
Open project and start building
For unlinked accounts
If you haven't linked your Reddit account:
You post in r/app2dev with "Create App" flair
Bot detects post within ~60 seconds
Bot replies with instructions to link your account
You link your Reddit account in App2 settings

/retryon your original postBot creates project and replies with link

FAQ
Do I need to link my Reddit account?
Not required, but highly recommended. Without linking:
Bot asks you to link first
Need to manually link in App2
Use
/retryafter linkingSlower workflow
With linking: instant project creation.
Can I create multiple projects from Reddit?
Yes. Post as many times as you want. Each post with "Create App" flair creates a separate project.
Can I edit my post after the bot responds?
Yes, but it won't update the project. The bot creates the project based on your post at the time it was detected. Edit the project in App2 for changes.
Will my post be public?
Yes. r/app2dev is a public subreddit. All posts are visible to everyone. Don't share sensitive information in posts.
Can I delete my post after project creation?
Yes. Deleting the Reddit post doesn't delete the App2 project. The project continues to exist in your workspace.
Does creating projects from Reddit cost credits?
Yes. Project creation consumes credits from your workspace, just like creating projects in App2 directly.
Can other people see my project?
Projects created from Reddit are public by default (matches Free tier). Upgrade to Pro and change visibility in project settings to make projects private.
How long does it take for bot to respond?
Typically 30-90 seconds. The bot checks r/app2dev every minute for new posts with "Create App" flair.
Can I use /prompt for projects not created from Reddit?
No. The /prompt command only works on posts that created App2 projects via the bot.
What if I don't want to use Reddit?
No problem. Reddit integration is completely optional. Create projects normally at app2.dev.
